Lexington

The station is located about 5 miles to the Southwest of the City of Lexington, VA on top of Misty Mountain Acres. The location is about 1400 ft above sea level in between the Blue Ridge Mountain range and the Alleghany Mountain range. The City of Lexington is a quaint town that has seen its battles during the Civil War. The town was voted in Smithsonian Magazine's List of "The 20 Best Small Towns to Visit in 2013 at number 5. Lexington was listed as one of the 2009 Coolest Small Towns in America by Budget Travel. In addition, the small town has been named to several lists for great retirement, including a list by Forbes magazine. According to Best Southern Small Town Winners (2017) it was number 5 out of 10.
